Vella Gardens LLC is a fine gardening company specializing in residential garden design, garden maintenance and seasonal container design. Owner Rebecca Taliercio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and English Literature from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts in 2005. After college, Rebecca pursued her passion for natural healing, biological sciences and holistic medicine and moved to Portland, Oregon to attend the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (now NUNM) for her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

After completing her first year at NUNM and becoming further enthralled with the wisdom of nature based medicines, Rebecca felt pulled to work more closely with the earth and decided to take time off to further her knowledge and skills in herb and plant cultivation before returning to finish her degree. This decision led her to a seasonal apprenticeship in organic perennial cultivation and farm-to-table floral design at Hay House Farm in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. From there, Rebecca's path shifted and she spent the next six years gardening professionally in the greater Boston area, from planting gardens on Boston rooftops to maintaining acres of perennial gardens on estates in the Boston suburbs. Rebecca started her own company, Vella Gardens, in 2011 upon moving to Rhode Island.

Rebecca's work stems from a profound respect for the natural world and a deep desire to connect people to their environments. Vella Gardens serves clients primarily throughout Rhode Island and on the Connecticut shoreline. When she is not in a garden, Rebecca spends her time continuing her training in various holistic healing modalities, creating artwork and enjoying time with her family.
